6381Y-6181Y-6491X DC Power Cable

Portsmouth Communications is able to supply a wide range of  competitively priced cables suitable for DC Power Transmission and Distribution including our most popular cables 6381Y,  6181Y and 6491X which are all manufactured to British Standards (BS), Underwriter Laboratories (UL-Global Safety Standards) and Canadian Standards (CSA) .

Typical applications:

6381Y to BS6004: Tri-rated panel wire, suitable for DC Power supplies on Telecommunications equipment  and power applications where a degree of flexibility (as non-armoured) is required. Conductors are available as follows:  Class 5 1.5-630 mm²  flexible plain copper conductors to BS EN 60228:2005.  6381Y cable is also known as BS6231 cable, DC  Telecom or Power cable, PVC Flex or Panel wire.

6181Y to BS6004: Double insulated wiring cable suitable for fixed installations in dry or damp areas for domestic or light industrial wiring.  Conductor sizes available are as follows: 1.0 – 2.5 mm² -Class 1 solid plain copper conductor to BS EN 60228:2005; 4.0 – 25 mm² - Class 2 stranded plain copper conductor to BS EN 60228:2005

6491Y to BS6004: Suitable for power and lighting circuits and building wiring and can be used in semi-exposed or embedded conduits or closed installation ducts.  It is also suitable for internal wiring of electrical appliances or apparatus. Conductor sizes available are as follows:  H07V-R: Class 2 stranded plain copper conductors to BS EN 60228:2005  and H07V-U: Class 1 solid plain copper conductor to BS EN 60228:2005.

We are also able to supply LSZH (Low smoke zero halogen also known as LS0H and LSFH) versions where standard cables are unsuitable for fire risk reasons.

The cables can be provided in a number of different sheath (insulation) colours as required.
