NHS Omega House - Network Cabling and Audio Visual Solution

Another major NHS project with a requirement for network cabling infrastructure and audio visual solutions where Portsmouth Communications helped the NHS Hampshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) enjoy a trouble free move to their new headquarters at Omega House.

The relocation involved a major refurbishment of the building for which Portsmouth Communications was chosen to install and commission  fibre optic backbone, Cat6 and voice network cabling and audio-visual solutions .

The nationally advertised contract was awarded on the basis of  Portsmouth Communications’ already proven track record when delivering similar complex projects. Knowledge and understanding of the NHS as well as our ability to meet tight timescales were critical requirements of this contract.

A key challenge of the project was indeed the schedule, as work had to be carried out in two phases to enable partial occupation of the building with minimal disruption to the client through careful planning and working outside of normal business hours.

A willingness to adapt to very specific requirements was recognised by NHS Hampshire and resulted in Portsmouth Communications also being awarded the audio visual work to support the eight meeting and training rooms at Omega House. Portsmouth Communications was subsequently awarded a single-supplier status to also supply and install the audio visual solutions – including Smart interactive whiteboard technology, digital signage, projectors and LCD screens.
